Celebrating the Reformation.

1/25/2017

October 31, 2017 will mark the 500th anniversary of the start of the Protestant Reformation. The beginning of the Reformation is commonly dated to the posting of Martin Luther’s 95 Theses on the church door at Wittenberg, Germany, on the Eve of All Saints, October 31st, 1517. We remember this event every year on Reformation Sunday (on our calendar, the last Sunday in October), but this year’s celebration is a special “quincentennial” commemoration.
Pastor Rick will note this anniversary with a series of sermons on the last Sunday of each month this year. To help this process, please direct any questions you may have about the Reformation or Martin Luther to him so he may address them in the sermons. Think of it as “Everything you always wanted to know about the Reformation but just haven’t yet asked.”  Questions can be placed in the offering plate, in Pastor Rick’s mail slot in the office or on his desk.
